Please note:
The ring set shown here is sold. The photos are used to give you an idea of how these rings can appear when completed. As this is a custom, made-to-order item, please check my production time in my shop announcement (under the Specimental banner in my shop): http://www.etsy.com/shop/elseetee2
This listing is for two rings- a custom-made rough diamond and pearl engagement band, and a wedding band in the same finish.
The engagement ring is designed around two rough diamonds and a freshwater pearl. These rings will be custom made for you upon ordering, and are completely customizable. Please note that the rings in the photos are sold- the images are used to give you an idea of what your rings will look like.
The wedding band sports a small rough gemstone. In the ring in the photos, it is a rough emerald. I can use any type of rough gemstone that you are intersted in. The one shown here is mint green tourmaline. Most rough gemstones can be used at this price- if you would like to replace this rough gemstone with an additional diamond, please get in touch for a cost estimate.
Diamonds: The two diamonds are in their raw, natural crystalline form. These diamonds are conflict-free. They average 3-4mm across, and come in a variety of pale silver-gray to dark, glistening gray. Each one is completely unique, and equally compelling. If you have a specific request for diamond tone, let me know, and I will try to fulfill your request. Otherwise, I will choose the loveliest of the lot for your ring.
Pearl: The pearl is freshwater, and is imported directly from the pearl farmer. Please choose your pearl colour from those shown in the final picture. Also available is a natural dark copper colour and a vivid chartreuse green.
Band Texture: The engagement band is 1/4", 20 gauge sterling silver. The wedding band is around 2mm wide, but this can vary as I cut this stock by hand. They can be given any texture you see in this listing: http://www.etsy.com/listing/58643323/textured-sterling-silver-band-custom Please contact me if you would like a wider wedding band with this listing- you can order 1/4", 3/8", or 1/2"- increasing the band width will increase the price, so please let me know prior to checking out and I can adjust the price of the listing for you.
The rings you see here have been given a high-shine finish.
I can also do matte, hammered, pinbrushed, or brushed finish.
Size: Any size is possible. If you do not know your ring size, just get in touch, and I can help you.
Expedited shipping includes a tracking number, delivery confirmation, and full insurance.

PLEASE NOTE: This ring set ships using Expedited Canada Post- this takes four to ten business days into the USA, and longer if going internationally. It includes a tracking number and delivery confirmation. This shipping method carries $100 worth of insurance. If you would like to have the ring set insured for its total value, please contact me for the insurance upgrade cost. The package is trackable and must be signed for on your end, so is quite safe. However, should something go awry, I cannot replace the rings nor refund unless the entire value of the set has been insured.
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
I am always open to hearing your design ideas. Please contact me through the shop, or at treloar@telus.net to discuss design possibilities.
If you are unsure of your ring size, the best way to be sized accurately is by visiting two commercial jewelers. Please ensure they size you using their thin sizing tools- not the wide band sizing tools, nor by having you try on rings from their display.
If any questions arise around being properly sized, I am always happy to help- contact me through the shop, or at treloar@telus.net
I don’t provide a gift wrapping service. Rings and earrings ship in jewelry boxes that are hot foil stamped with the Specimental logo.
If the person for whom you are purchasing the piece shares your address, please be aware of the following: International export law dictates that the detailed contents of packages, and their value, be clearly marked on the outside of the package. This means that if they see the package before you do, they can easily tell what they are being gifted with.
Need secrecy for this delivery? The very best option is to have your package held for you at your closest Fed Ex store- if you are unsure of its location, I'm happy to help.
Our hands are busy objects, and any ring worn on a finger can become accidentally damaged. All rings need regular maintenance. Make sure you are buying your raw diamond ring from a jeweler with the knowledge and experience needed to ensure your stone stays put. Ask them about their warranty and their repair/upkeep policy. Look at how frequently they work with raw diamonds, and assess whether they have the technical experience to create a ring that will last your lifetime.
I stand behind each piece of jewellery I make. If something goes wrong with your ring, at any time- you slam your finger in a drawer and crush the band, you break a prong, you smash and crack your stone- you can count on me to support you with the repair.
My gold is all recycled- the metal plant I purchase it from has been in business for over 100 years. They smelt their metals to the highest environmental standards, to cause the least impact on the environment. They do not deal with newly mined metals, as these metals cause much greater destruction to the environment.
There is no visible difference between recycled metals and newly-mined metals. There is also no difference as far as the karat of the metals go- 18k recycled gold is exactly the same in constitution as 18k newly mined gold. The vast majority of my clients prefer their metals recycled, as environmental impact is of concern when choosing the perfect piece of jewelry.
I can use your heirloom stones in a new design. The stones must be pulled from their settings and checked for stability by a professional jeweler prior to shipping them to me. I cannot recycle your gold. I am not set up to smelt gold in the studio, so am not able to melt down your old gold pieces for you.
My current production times are listed in my shop announcement. If you need something more quickly, please get in touch via the shop, or at treloar@telus.net
Depending upon my work and family schedule, I am happy to accommodate your rush orders. There is no additional charge for a rush order. However, please do get in touch prior to ordering to discuss your deadline with me.
Yes! All of my pieces are completely hand fabricated in the studio by me, from raw materials. I am able to create any of my designs with any stone, in any composition. In short, you can have your ring absolutely any way you like it. Contact me through the shop, or via treloar@telus.net to get the discussion around your perfect piece of jewelry started.
A raw diamond is an exceptionally difficult stone to set properly. Their unique shape means that a custom setting needs to be fabricated for each and every stone. The way in which the setting is closed around the diamond must be approached in a very particular fashion.
I began setting these stones into my rings in 2009, when only a small handful of jewelers were working with this type of stone. As the appeal of raw diamonds has exploded, countless numbers of jewelers are now incorporating them into their designs. I have set thousands of raw diamonds into my pieces since then.
